ABOUT OUR QUARTET
Jan Caputo: I currently play in 6 orchestras, and am principal viola in 4 of them; 5 are in Michigan (in Alma, Mt. Pleasant, Cadillac, and Sault Ste Marie) and the other is a world orchestra that has taken me to 5 of the 7 continents so far. I started QcS in 1991 and because I have very eclectic musical tastes we play MANY genre in our repertoire. I teach violin and viola privately and teach/direct the advanced students in our local string association. I am an avid chamber music player and have performed chamber works in showcase concerts sponsored by Baroque on Beaver, Sault Symphony, Soo Opera Theater, and World Doctors Orchestra among others.
Katie Setterlund and Faith Chaffee are our violinists and Ross Maki is our cellist. They all play with the Alma Symphony and Ross plays with me in a duo called Blue Skies, and in 4 other orchestras, as principal cellist in 3 of those. He is also a fine pianist and our duo does viola-cello and viola-piano works. Ross teaches cello privately out of my music studio and Faith teaches violin privately. Both also teach for our local string association. We all play professionally and have many years of experience.
In addition to weddings we have a great mix of music for receptions, and if the bride is interested could provide a package of ceremony music plus a lovely set of dinner/cocktail music.
