I played electric guitar in a 5 piece Rock band in my early twenties. But my heart grew to love artists like James Taylor and Cat Stevens. By my late twenties I was in an Acoustic Duo with my older brother, so I gave up shredding lead guitar for smooth vocal harmonies. For 8 years we played all over Michigan, from Mackinac Island to Ann Arbor, Lansing and Detroit. In 2000 my brother stepped out and my little sister stepped in. Another 8 years of Michigan performances followed. Since then, I play local solo acoustic shows and have no desire or intention of stopping. Two of my musical strengths are remembering song lyrics and playing unique cover song interpretations. For some reason, even with a mediocre memory, I can remember every guitar chord and song lyric from over 150 songs, no notes, no sheet music. As far as song interpretation, come hear me perform live and you’ll say, “I didn’t expect him to play THAT song. He kind of pulled it off”. Most of all I love performing live and I can be very entertaining when I put my mind to it.
